Reality Television

My topic is Reality Television.

Pros: many people believe reality TV is a creative, socially relevant, alternative to scripted entertainment. It is a broad term, covering various TV programs, showing more "true to life" characters. The unique layout of the programs intrigue the audience leading to millions of viewers. Sometimes, when the characters of the shows are popular, they may become famous.

Cons: Other people think reality television is trivial, voyeuristic, and cruel to it's subjects. Some of the challenges can place contestants in circumstances that could lead to injury (ex. Wipeout, Survivor). Hidden cameras catch everything including makeovers, blind dates, and pranks. Using the hidden cameras intrudes on privacy. Contestants who may not end up as successful as others can end up trashing judges, hosts, or the show itself.

I'm on the borderline for the pros and cons of reality TV. I support it because it can be interesting and provides entertainment. However, I'm against it because it can injure the contestants and it invades on people's private life.

I think that Reality Television is ok. May I remind you that all the people who are on Reality Television sign or agree to being on that show. So you cant say that they are put in challenging circumstances they know! Wow some ppl are just . . .Chicken Wings

I think that Reality Television is okay. They were the ones who agreed to be on the show and they shouldn't have said yes if they didn't want to be on it. Reality Television is also very entertaining.

I think that reality TV is ok. If people think signed up for a show I'm sure they know what they're getting in to.

I guess reality TV is ok. People who are on it have to sign a contract, aggreing to catch what they do in their life on camera. If they don't like what the camera catches, it's their fault.

I am against reality TV. I'm pretty sure some shows are rigged, where producers try to promote the contestants that they want while others get thrown under the bus. Reality TV also over-exaggerates some situations to create drama.

Some shows are trashy, but i just try and stay away from that, other tthan that, its fine
